Homeowner Program
&
Home Repairs

Every family needs a strong foundation to build a brighter future.

At Habitat for Humanity Anchorage, we believe that every one of us deserves a decent and affordable place to call home, and that home becomes the launch pad for a brighter future.

After a Habitat home has been built or renovated, it is sold with an affordable, no-profit mortgage and an affordable monthly payment.

As Habitat homeowners make their mortgage payments, they are investing in the homes of future homebuyers - and the cycle continues.

Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Program

We believe that everyone should have a safe, affordable place to call home. To carry out our vision, we partner with individuals and families through the entire process: from application through construction, from financial education classes to handing over the keys.

By working together from beginning to end, we can help prospective Habitat homebuyers prepare for the various responsibilities of homeownership, including learning about personal finances, mortgages, maintenance and upkeep of homes, and much more.

Habitat’s path to homeownership is an important and in-depth process, requiring hard work, time and dedication. But this helps to ensure the long-term success of Habitat homeowners.

Habitat for Humanity Critical Home Repair Program

Critical Home Repair is a program assisting homeowners whose houses need repairs to make them safe and affordable.

Although this program serves a different population -- people who are already homeowners -- it follows the same basic tenets for eligibility: demonstrated need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner. Like our Homeowner Program, Critical Home Repair provides a hand-up, not a hand-out.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunities throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
