At Habitat for Humanity Anchorage our greatest priority is for the safety of our homeowners, volunteers, staff, customers, visitors and the greater community as we take proactive steps to minimize the health impacts of Coronavirus (COVID-19). As circumstances evolve we will update this page with the latest information and our affiliates' actions.
Leading health experts recommend that we all practice "staff-distancing" to minimize contact and prevent the spread of the virus. As of now, Habitat for Humanity Anchorage has eliminated large group meetings, suspended retail operations at the ReStore, and all-volunteer activities to minimize health risks.
This unprecedented pandemic hinders our ability to serve the community through canceled construction shifts and a closed ReStore. we are all impacted by this crisis, but if you can, please help Habitat for Humanity Anchorage - and your community - weather this storm with your financial support.
For more information on the various aspects of the organization:
Volunteers: We have suspended all construction, ReStore and office volunteer activities until further notice to maximize the safety of our volunteer workforce and staff.
Retail Operations: We have closed the Anchorage ReStore until April 14 (extended if mandated). We have suspended acceptance of product donations while the ReStore is temporarily closed. ReStore associates are home safe with their families.
Office & Construction Staff: For the safety of our teams, the office staff is working from home where the nature of our job lends itself to working remotely. Construction projects will continue utilizing construction trades professionals (such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC) to keep projects moving. The Construction team will assist with construction work as appropriate.
Events: All Habitat Anchorage events scheduled during March and April will be canceled without exception for the safety of our community.
